Today marks the release of Fat Trel's highly anticipated sixth mixtape, "Georgetown". In usual Trel fashion, he announced the name of the project over half a year ago—building excitement for the project long before its release. As a front-runner in DC's budding rap scene, Fat Trel has lots of fans who were preparing their Spinrilla and My Mixtapez apps to bump this as soon as it dropped.
The project features production from notable names such as Cool & Dre, 808 Mafia, MMG's own Beat Billionaire and more. Though mostly a solo act, Trel receives some assistance from Wale, Rick Ross, Fetty Wap, SB's Boosa (Trel's blood brother), and more.
Fat Trel is one of my favorite artists, so I was definitely expecting a lot from this release. I've been able to listen a bit and it's a pretty solid project. At first glance I was honestly a little disappointed, but even with it's weak points it's a pretty good mixtape—and of course I'm always thankful for a few new Fat Trel tracks to bump. Some of my favorites are "Fuck Out My Face" and "I'm Ill". Others on our team also think it's pretty good, so check it out for yourself and tell us what you think. Hopefully Fat Trel continues to grow as an artist, and we see more great things from him as time goes on.
