Today DC's own Shy Glizzy dropped his highly-anticipated mixtape "Law 3", after announcing its release date less than 3 weeks beforehand. This follows the February release of the fan-favorite "Young Jefe", the drops of two singles "Celebration" featuring Bobby Shmurda and "What U Talkin Bout", and the release of the "John Wall" video with a verse from Lil' Mouse. It seems like Shy has been at the top of his game recently, appearing on the hit "Chiraq" along with Meek Mill and Lil Durk plus dropping remixes of "White Girl" (featuring Lil Durk) and Awwsome (featuring 2 Chainz and ASAP Rocky). All this, plus how great his previous tape Young Jefe was, led us (and many other it seems) to believe that Law 3 would only grow upon the previous successes. Overall we were disappointed in the mixtape. It has its moments, but the most memorable tracks are the singles, with a few more that I'd recommend. As always, we recommend that you check it out for yourself. Listen below, or click the artwork above to download!
Update: After listening to the project for about a week or two, it definitely grew on me. Solid offering from Shy Glizzy this time around, just a different pace than the hard-hitting Young Jefe. You can definitely hear the growth from his music on his previous mixtapes.
